 NEWBY BRIDGE
Summary:-

A large impressive stone - arched old bridge crosses the outfall from Windermere into the River Leven.
This is an area with no large towns or villages set at the southern tip of Lake Windermere.
One of the less busy parts of the lakes but still plenty going on to attract visitors.


History/Buildings
Stott Park Bobbin Mill 
A 19th century working museum.
Open March - October (Daily 10:00 - 18:00)

Leisure
Lakeside
A small hamlet at the foot of Windermere with hotel, restaurant and an aquarium.  Lakeside is also the southern terminus for the Windermere steamer service and the northern terminus of the steam railway.

Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway
A station with a steam railway service.  The journey is 4k in length and takes you from the village of Haverthwaite to Lakeside and return on a regular basis throughout the day.
A cafe and shop is also available, Open Easter to October.
