Windermere
(The Lake)
The largest lake in England at nearly 17km (10.5
Miles). A fine stretch of water with numerous
small wooded islands with one inhabited, Belle Isle, it
has a villa dating from 1774. There is no public
access to the island but it can be seen from a distance
on one of the frequent boat tours.
