Ghyll Force
A few minutes walk from town, a tributary of the River
Rothay, a waterfall tumbles down towards the town.
This area used to have an array of water powered mills
which processed fabrics, ground corn and produced
bobbins. Now closed, demolished or converted.
The view upstream along the beck still gives the
impression of the industrial days.
